Six teams will have an amazing opportunity to practice their elevator pitch to Sunday's panel of speakers. After each pitch, each of the five speakers will be given 45 seconds to tell the team one area they did very well, one area that needs to be improved, or one area that they missed altogether. With the panel members' diverse experiences and backgrounds, this feedback can be extremely valuable.
To apply to be one of the six teams, contact Farabi Sameer, the PSECU GEW Endowed Intern, Founder of First Pick, and President of the Global Entrepreneurship Week Club, at farabisameer@gmail.com or visit https://gewclubpsu.typeform.com/to/qCAZdt.
Today’s global innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders are changing industries, cultures, and practices through digitization. They are tapping the cloud, mobile, and analytics technology to compete and set the new professional standards of performance. What does it mean? It means to go beyond what is expected and achieve the extraordinary. It’s the ability to harness innovation and knowledge to drive the “art of the possible” in order to achieve results and target new markets in a manner you never imagined. In 1946, IBM joined forces with universities to create the first academic program called “computer science.” The event changed industry, government, and academia forever. We are undergoing another major shift in how machine learning, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain, IoT, robotics, additive manufacturing, and cloud technology are coming together. Come learn how you can perform to drive the “art of the possible."
The event will be live streamed: http://live.libraries.psu.edu/Mediasite/Play/1a1b8bd3ce0d4b9383ea42145e28c7581d?catalog=8376d4b2-4dd1-457e-a3bf-e4cf9163feda
Join us for this highly engaging ideation session during which individuals and teams will be challenged and inspired to dream up ideas for how Artificial Intelligence can be used to improve the student experience at Penn State. These ideas can be the first step into the EdTech Network’s Nittany AI Challenge, a semester long challenge offering a pool of $100,000 to support the development of these ideas into reality. Experience with development and Artificial Intelligence is not required, only the willingness to think creatively and the ambition to solve problems. The Nittany AI Challenge is a program designed to inspire teams of Penn State students, faculty, and staff to develop and demonstrate how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning can be used to improve the student experience at Penn State and beyond. This is a semester-long program, that culminates in the summer of 2018, aimed at accelerating adoption of AI technologies and sparking creative, innovative ideas that solve real problems.
